Best robot vacuums 2026
Maps that do not get lost, docks that empty themselves, and mops that are not a damp sock.
Retail links go to Amazon search. Add your Associates tags in env to enable commissions. Rankings are never sold. Full disclosure.
A robot vacuum is a time machine that only works if it docks, empties, and does not eat charging cables. We punish pretty apps that cannot finish a 3-bed terrace.
Roborock still owns the 'just works' middle. Dreame and Ecovacs win spec wars. Roomba still wins 'my parents already have one' and not much else at full price.

Questions people actually ask
Best robot vacuum overall?
A current Roborock Q-series with a self-empty dock for most homes. Step up to S-series if you mop a lot.
Do I need a mop?
If you have hard floors and spills, a spinning mop pad with a washing dock is worth it. If you have wall-to-wall carpet, skip the mop tax.
Are cheap robots fine?
For a studio, sometimes. For a house with chairs, no — LiDAR or good structured light pays for itself in not getting stuck.
Roomba or Chinese brands?
iRobot's software used to be the reason. In 2026 the value is usually Roborock/Dreame unless you are in the Roomba subscription universe.
