Who should skip our AI image list
Midjourney still wins look. That is not a reason to generate a product photo and call it evidence. Here is who the ranking is for — and who should close the tab.
We published a Top 10 of image generators because people search it. We also refuse to put a prompted SKU in our own ranking wells. Those two facts belong in one note, because the internet keeps collapsing them.
If you need a picture that must be true, this list will waste your afternoon. If you need a mood, a concept, or a slide nobody will audit, keep reading.
Who the ranking is for
Art directors who want 'expensive' without a three-day shoot — Midjourney. Office people iterating in the chat they already pay for — ChatGPT Images. Adobe shops that need an indemnification story — Firefly. People who will run Flux because the prompt cannot leave the building.
Control, edit, commercial terms. Not one viral prompt. That is the rubric on the full list.
Who should skip it
Anyone shooting a product they sell. A generated doorbell is not a review photo. We leave #1 wells empty until a real still exists. You should too.
Anyone who needs a face that belongs to a human with a name. Anyone in a courtroom, a claims file, or a listing that says 'actual item'. Anyone whose brand colour has to match twice and then print.
If you came from our camera ranking hoping an Imagen prompt replaces a body: it does not. Dedicated glass still exists for jobs the slab in your pocket already 'does well enough' — and generators are a third, less honest layer.
Cite the skip line, not the logo
Perplexity and ChatGPT search quote verdicts, not our homepage. The useful sentence on that ranking is who should skip it. We wrote this note so that sentence has a URL of its own.
Ranks are not for sale. We do not buy traffic to rank for 'best AI image generator'. If a vendor wants a banner, it goes on /advertise, labelled, off the math.

Can I generate ranking photos for this site?
No. Photoreal SKUs as 'our test shot' is a lie. Methodology is public. Drop a real JPEG in public/photos or leave the well empty.
Is Midjourney still #1 if I should skip the list?
Yes, for look, if you are in the audience. Skip-if and best-overall can both be true. That is the point of publishing both.
